OUR PASTOR
Pastor Dale Roh
Senior Pastor, Good News Detroit Church

Pastor Dale Roh serves as the senior pastor of Good News Detroit Church in Livonia, Michigan. His ministry is centered on one clear purpose: to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and help people discover a life of faith rooted in the Word of God.
Born and raised in South Korea, Pastor Roh grew up in the church and received assurance of salvation at the age of fourteen. Although faith was part of his life from an early age, his ambitions were initially focused on achieving success in the world.
He studied statistics in college and went on to work in the investment and financial industry for eight years. During those years, he pursued a successful career, but God gradually led his heart in a different direction. Eventually, he became convinced that his life was not meant to be centered on personal success, but on sharing the gospel with others.
Responding to that calling, he left his career and entered full-time ministry, receiving ministry training at Good News Theology School in South Korea.

A Missionary Journey to America
In November 2007, Pastor Roh came to the United States as a missionary. He first served in New York for four years and later continued his ministry in Boston for five years.
Those years shaped his understanding of ministry in a diverse society. As he met people from different cultures, backgrounds, and walks of life, he became increasingly convinced that although people's circumstances may be different, the fundamental need of the human heart is the same—and that the gospel has the power to bring hope and transformation to anyone.
In February 2016, Pastor Roh was called to serve as the senior pastor of Good News Detroit Church.
Founded in 2001, the church originally began by serving Korean families. Over the years, however, it has grown into a multicultural congregation where people from many different backgrounds worship, learn the Bible, and serve together.
Today, Good News Detroit Church continues its ministry from Livonia with a vision that reaches beyond the walls of the church and into communities throughout Metro Detroit and Michigan.

A Ministry Centered on the Word
At the heart of Pastor Roh's ministry is the conviction that true spiritual change begins when the Word of God changes the heart.
Rather than encouraging people simply to become better through their own effort, Pastor Roh emphasizes discovering what God has already accomplished through Jesus Christ and learning to trust the promises of Scripture.
His preaching and teaching frequently explore the connection between the Old and New Testaments, helping people see how the sacrifices, the Tabernacle, the prophets, and other biblical accounts ultimately point to Jesus Christ and the gospel.
He also emphasizes practical faith—learning to move beyond one's own thoughts, circumstances, and limitations and instead trust what God has spoken in His Word.

A Vision Beyond the Church Walls
Pastor Roh believes that the church is called not only to gather for worship but also to bring the gospel into the community.
Under this vision, Good News Detroit Church has continued to engage in evangelism conferences, Bible studies, youth programs, community outreach, cultural events, and other ministries designed to connect people with the message of Christ.
His vision for Good News Detroit Church extends beyond building a larger congregation. It is to see individuals and families discover the gospel, grow in faith, and become people through whom God can bring hope to others.
As the church begins a new chapter in Livonia, Pastor Roh continues to lead with a simple conviction:
When we trust the Word of God and walk by faith, God opens doors beyond what we can accomplish through our own strength.
Through preaching, teaching, discipleship, and community outreach, Pastor Roh and Good News Detroit Church remain committed to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout Metro Detroit, Michigan, and beyond.
